Robotic vacuums have been around for quite a while. The best known of the bunch tends to be the iRobot Roomba line of vacuums. I have been avoiding the Roomba’s ever since I have gotten ahold of my iLife A4 Smart Robotic Vacuum. You can read more about that here.
I digress. Samsung is placing a bet on the robotic vacuum cleaner space with a very expensive entry. The Samsung SR2AK9350U Turbo Powerboat Vacuum ($998). How can you go wrong… it has “turbo” in the name.
The claim to fame for this Samsung vacuum is that it has the “world’s most powerful suction” (among robot vacuums), uses Wi-Fi for longer range app control, and has vision mapping to dodge furniture and other items. If I could just get over the $1k price tag. Ouch.
I will give the folks at the vacuum group some props for not copying the designs of others. You know. Like the Samsung phone group does. Zing.
