I sure hope this ambitious energy harvesting gadget becomes a reality. This floating platform, from Sinn Power in Germany, is still very much a concept. All of the parts exist, but they haven’t been put together in such a way, yet.
This system is designed to provide power for coastal locations and creates power from wind turbines, solar panels, and floating wave energy harvesters. It is built in a modular fashion so you can add or subtract parts depending on the customer’s needs.
The wave generation piece can handle waves up to 19.6ft in height while harvesting waves up to 6.5ft. Each floating setup can generate up to 24kW. Add to that solar and wind for another 26kW of power.
